Nijmegen Institute for Infection, Inflammation and Immunity (N4i)

The Nijmegen Institute for Infection, Inflammation and Immunity (N4i) is one of six research institutes of the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre.

N4i performs clinical translational and basic research on the interaction between microorganisms and the host, the inflammatory response and immune mechanisms as occur in autoimmune disorders and transplantation.

N4i also acts as an umbrella for the clinical centres dealing with infectious diseases (auto)inflammatory disorders and immunological diseases.

Mission
N4i’s ambition is to reach national and international leadership in research in infectious diseases, inflammation and immunity. This research is inspired by observations at the bedside and aims to improve diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of patients with infection, inflammatory and immunological disorders based on fundamental and translational research on pathogenesis.
