The department of Paediatrics provides basic and academic general paediatric care in particular for patients referred by paediatricians. The University Children's Hospital Nijmegen is one of the eight academic Children's Hospitals in the Netherlands.
There is a close cooperation between the different subdepartments and other departments involved in the care of the sick child. Several involved departments are carrying out a great variety of research projects.
