Biochemistry of Integrated Systems

Research of the group focuses on three interconnected subjects: First, the analysis of protein-protein interaction networks in cellular signal transduction. Second, cellular molecule import. Third, molecular processes associated with the aging of human red blood cells. Confocal fluorescence microscopy, peptide microarrays and especially fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) are key technologies in these areas of research. This expertise, has also contributed to numerous publications at the interface of bio-organic chemistry and cell biology outside the core research areas.

Core research areas

Roland Brock

Roland Brock holds the chair of Biochemistry of Integrated Systems in the department of Biochemistry. Since 2007 he is also head of the Department of Biochemistry. In addition to pursuing interests in basic science, his group has been involved in numerous collaborations with biotech companies and the pharmaceutical industry.
